Due to the rising prices of basic commodities, many workers ponder on whether or not having two part-time jobs is better than holding just one full time job. This stems from the idea that you'll get more money from having multiple part time jobs as compared to what you'll get in full time jobs. What some people fail to realize, though, is that while part time jobs only require a few hours of work, full time jobs offer employees certain benefits and privileges that they won't get in freelance or part-time work.
Full time jobs involve working a minimum number of hours everyday, five days a week. The required number of hours you have to work in full time jobs varies in different countries, but companies usually require full time jobs employees to work a minimum of eight hours a day. Many workers experience monotony in holding full time jobs, which you often read about in articles everywhere. This boredom that full time jobs employees experience often results from the routine activities they perform on the job.
This is why many people prefer doing freelance work; they don't have to deal with the boredom that routine work in full time jobs bring. They also don't have to follow strict schedules. Freelance work is ideal for students, housewives and individuals who want to make productive use of their spare time.
One major advantage people with full time jobs have over freelancers is the security of work and employment. The work that freelancers and part-time employees do is very irregular, which means that there is usually no stable income for them. In full time jobs, you go to work everyday and get paid regularly. People who hold full time jobs also enjoy medical benefits and personal privileges such as vacation and sick leaves. Some companies also provide payments for employees' pension funds as well as overtime pay for times when employees work beyond the required number of hours in full time jobs.
Aside from money matters, people who hold full time jobs also cite the friends they gain at work as one advantage of having full time jobs. As compared to doing freelance work, which you do on your own, full time job workers enjoy the comfort of having work friends they can talk to about work and other things.
