Matthew Johns's time in the wilderness will be short lived - he's set to be an assistant coach with his old club, Newcastle. For the first time since 2000, Johns will return to the Knights, where he played for 11 seasons. As revealed in The Sun-Herald, Johns was offered the job last week, but the club wanted to keep it under wraps. "I enjoy it," he said of mentoring today's players. "I have no ambitions of being a full-time head coach, but if I have to have a year off ... you've got to do something."
